Chocolate Chip Cookies
One of my favorite smells is a chocolate chip
cookie baking in the oven; this smell takes me back to when I was younger and
I'd beg my mother to make my favorite cookie. Mama Quinn would allow me
to have a single spoonful of cookie dough while I eagerly awaited the
cookie timer to sound. I'd gobble down my cookie(s) still warm with a big
glass of cold 2% milk.
Chocolate chip cookies are the first cookies I
learned to bake. (Thanks mama!) My ideal chocolate chip cookie isn't too
crunchy, it isn't too soft, and errors on the side of "too much
chocolate" to which I'd respond - no such thing! I have tried
several recipes which were all delicious, but I may have to make a very bold
claim...I believe I may have found the "best" recipe yet (compliments
of a former patient). But I'll allow you to be the judge. Happy
baking!
Ingredients:
½ pound of unsalted butter softened (2 sticks)
¾ cup granulated sugar
1-cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1-tablespoon pure vanilla extract (I always
allow the spoon to overflow)
3 cups of all-purpose flour
¾ teaspoons baking soda
A dash of salt
1 package of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
2. Combine butter, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix
thoroughly with a spoon or a hand mixer.
3. Add flour, baking soda, and salt to the wet mixture. Combine thoroughly before mixing in the
chocolate chips
4. Spoon dough onto a greased cookie
5. Bake for 8 minutes
Enjoy!
