Fitness

Add EXERCISE/BEING ACTIVE to my list of favorite things.  It is my physical and emotional stress reliever, my “rough” day remedy is to hop on a treadmill, blast Ke$ha, set the speed above 10 mph and GO!  As the beloved Elle Woods said, ““Exercise gives you endorphins.  Endorphins make you happy.  Happy people just don’t kill their husbands.” Bottom-line, exercise makes me happy.  My only exercise goal is to be stronger today than I was yesterday.  I aim to challenging myself, push my limits, and best my best.  Others inspire me, but for now, I am my only competition.
My training philosophy is variety, progression, and intensity; every workout should be different from the previous one, progress your resistance/repetitions/sets, and push yourself!  The exercises I complete are a combination of traditional, unique one-of-a-kind ideas, research, my incredibly brilliant coach Alex Viada and discussion with colleagues and friends.

My background:
I grew up playing sports, up to 8 sports in one year (cross-country, soccer, basketball, skiing, track and field, softball, swimming, and tennis).  I was a four-sport Varsity athlete in high school (cross-country, basketball, track, and swimming).  I was a three-time All-American track and field athlete in college.  I have not raced since Nationals my senior year of college, but I have big goals for 2016!

I majored in Exercise Science at Point Loma Nazarene University and received my Doctor of Physical Therapy graduate degree from Duke University.  I was employed as a personal trainer during graduate school.  I am extremely passionate about health and fitness because the good Lord made our bodies to move!
